This month the theme in the JFC Library will be “Sound and Rhythm of the Japanese Language”. Generally speaking, Japanese people think of their language as being beautiful to listen to. But why is that? We will try to explain the Japanese sounds and rhythms through Japanese poems, Tanka and Haiku (short poems), and introduce masterpieces from among the countless Tanka and Haiku poems, some of which are written in Japanese calligraphy.
In our Exhibition, to help visitors enjoy the sound of Japanese language, we placed the pronunciation of the poems in Roman letters by the poems.
We look forward to seeing you!
