The Japan Foundation Cairo Office supports activities and programs for Japanese language teachers in the Middle East and North Africa.

In February 2016, Mr. Joji Ikezu, the Japanese Language Education Advisor at the JF Cairo Office, was dispatched to Lebanon to provide training for the Japanese Language teachers in Beirut’s Saint Joseph University (Centre Academique Japonais: CAJAP).

Saint Joseph University is the only institute in Lebanon that teaches the Japanese language, albeit as one of the elective subjects. Since the students in this course are beginners, the training focused on practical yet enjoyable teaching methods to raise the basic proficiency of the students who are grouped into small classes for better efficiency.
