Applications by new students for the 2017 July Semester will be suspended, and this semester will be held only for the JF Language Course students currently enrolled.

Please wait for applications for the next semester which will start in December.


 

Japanese Language Courses ~Intermediate levels~

2017 January Semester

1. Duration

8th January (Sun.) ~ End of May, 2017   18 weeks.

The Japan Foundation Cairo Office

3rd & 5th Floors, Cairo Center Building, 106 Qasr Al-Aini St., Garden City, Cairo

 

3. Courses

*Current University students majoring in Japanese can register for the following courses.

* Classes 2C, 3B and level 4 will NOT be available this time.

① Intermediate Course Level 7 (twice / week)

Prerequisite: Completion of a Japanese Language Beginner’s Course.

Quota: 20 learners

As well as revising what was learned in the Beginner’s Level, we will study communication, grammar, vocabulary, expressions and kanji necessary for advancing to the intermediate level.

Textbook: “Marugoto Shochukyu A2/B1”

 

② Intermediate Course Level 8 (twice / week)

Prerequisite: Those who have previously studied the textbook ” Marugoto Shochukyu A2/B1″.

Quota: 20 learners

The purpose of this course is to raise the learners’ Japanese language proficiency in general by building upon the basis of what was learned in the textbook ” Marugoto Shochukyu A2/B1″, and increasing the learners’ repertoire of grammar, vocabulary and expressions. There will be exercises on speaking, listening, reading and writing about a certain theme, in order to raise the learners’ Japanese communication skills.

Textbook: ” Marugoto Chukyu 1 B1” Topic 1 ~ Topic 5

 

③ Intermediate Course Level 9 (twice / week)

Prerequisite: Completion of the Intermediate Japanese Course Level 8  /

OR Those who have previously studied the textbook “Marugoto B1” Topic 1-5

Quota: 20 learners

The purpose of this course is increasing the learners’ repertoire of grammar, vocabulary and expressions. There will be exercises on speaking, listening, reading and writing about a certain theme, in order to raise the learner’s Japanese communication skills.

Textbook:  “Marugoto Chukyu 1 B1” Topic 6 ~ Topic 9

 

④ Intermediate Course Level 10 (twice / week)

Prerequisite: Previous study of the textbook “Marugoto Chukyu B1 Topic6-9”/ those who have completed level 10 in July 2016 semester and want to study again.

Quota: 20 students 

The purpose of this course is to learn how to express oneself and ideas on difficult topics, acquire the skill of communication with others, and to deepen understanding of social culture and Japanese people and culture.

The learner will express his thoughts on different high-level topics.

Textbook: “Marugoto Chukyu 2 B1” Topic 1 – 5


 

 

4. Course Fees

* These prices include the textbooks fees.

If you have the textbook, the tuition fees will be adjusted.

 

* We cannot refund the fees once you paid for any reason.

* You cannot use the amount you paid as fees for a future course.

** Any class must be more than 5 students to start; if not we will cancel the class and refund the fees.

 

5. How to apply & Register

From Levels 7 10

* Application for new students:

December 18th (Sun.) ~December 19th (Mon.) 2016.[ Time ]3:30 pm – 6:30 pm

[Please bring 5 L.E.for application fee, and 2 photos (3cm x 2.5cm) and a pen.

 

* Placement Test: 21st, December 2016 (Wed)       [ Time ] 6:00 pm ~ 7:30 pm

 

* Result announcement & Registration:

25 December (Sun.) ~ 26 December (Mon.) [ Time ]3:30 pm – 6:30 pm

 

Placement Test

* Every applicant must bring pencils (or mechanical pencils) and an eraser. We will not lend them for any reason.

* Depending on the Placement Test results, applicants may not be able to enter the Course they want.

* Applicants who wish to enter Level 7 ~ 10 must take this exam except for the following:

  ・Those who have completed Level 6 of the Japan Foundation Japanese Language Beginner’s Course in December 2016.

  ・Those who took the Japan Foundation Intermediate Japanese Courses (level 7 ~ 10) during the previous year.

** All Applicants for level 10 must take the placement test.

*** In the Japan Foundation Courses, you’ll learn grammar, but we’ll focus more on talking, reading and communicating. We will also focus on the understanding of Japanese people and their culture through culture activities.

We don’t recommend these courses for those who only want to study grammar, or those who want to prepare themselves for the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT).
