The library of the Japan Foundation Cairo Office holds a wide variety of books about Japan.
The library is open to the public, but the lending service and use of the Study Room are for members only. (Please see: How to become a Library Member)

Services:
1) Access to the collection
- The entire collection is open access.
- Computer searching is available to find books (under preparation).
2) Loans

Applicants are required to submit a completed Membership Application Form to the receptionist,
along with the following forms of identification.
- Valid passport or identification card
- Two recent photographs
- Annual fees:
Adults: 40.00 LE
Students: 20.00 LE
Renewal: 10.00 LE
Current students of the Japan Foundation Cairo Office language course may use the library free of charge.
Collections:
The library holds the following collections:
- Around 2,500 books in Japanese, English, Arabic, and other languages
- 14 magazines titles (some subscriptions change every year)
- 3 newspapers (1 in Japanese, 2 in English)
- 250 videocassettes and DVDs
- 250 Japanese language books with cassette tapes & CD
- 58 Japanese music cassette tapes
Facilities:
- Audio-visual equipment: Cassette players, videocassettes, and DVD recorder booths.
- Computers with Internet access.
