The Japan Foundation Cairo Office has lately participated in the 2nd edition of the Di-Egy Festival, through inviting the Japanese media artist; Masasuke Yasumoto, in order to present some workshops during the festival. The Japanese media artist has already presented 3 workshops in MSA University. The 2nd edition of the festival has started in cairo at Darb 1718 Centre for contemporary arts – old Cairo area, 7th March (Tuesday) and ended 14th March 2017.
The festival aims at creating a creative forum through which experts from Egypt and all over the world to meet together by participating with their artworks and exchanging their visual and …….experties trhough the several events of the festival. The festival also provides an excellent opportunity for young artists and art schools’ students to participate in the events, and alleviate their awareness standards, concerning the digitalized arts and the way to incorporate them in producing artworks.
About the Japanese artist: Masasuke YASUMOTO
Born in 1980 in Japan. He received Ph.D. (film and new media) from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2010. He was an assistant professor in Tokyo University of Technology from 2011 to 2015. Currently working as Assistant professor in Kanagawa Institute of Technology since 2015. He is a media artist, researcher and engineer working at the intersection of art and science. His work covers a range of disciplines including interactive arts, computer graphics, physical interface, mobile applications and video game.
