The Japan Foundation Cairo Office organized the Japanese Film Week 2017 under the title “Taste of Life” at the Artistic Creativity Center- Cairo Opera House from 26th of February (Sunday) to 2nd of March (Thursday). The number of audience reached over 2000 people during the Week.
A prominent collection of Japanese food-related movies were featured such as; Akanezora- Beyond the Crimson Sky (which featured Tofu*), There is No Lid on the Sea (Kakigori**) and Karage USA (Karage***) and so on.
Also, more than 400 copies of the novel “Tsugumi” (By Yoshimoto Banana) translated to Arabic were given as presents to the guests on the occasion of the screening of the film “There is No Lid on the Sea”, which is based on one of her novels. (This book is also available in our Library)
